the reason for this effort is to share the front suspension bottoming fix...just because I'm me...but we're not there yet...
this tale starts out at Christmas 2007, when my wife of 30 years started whining "you never buy me a Christmas present...I want you to pick out something special for me so I can be convinced you really love me, and will spend the rest of your days on earth pining away at the window of my soul...so I feel like I'm the Princess of your life"... I thought, "perhaps you'd like a little cheese to go with that whine?" but being an expert in the behaviors of women, I just batted my eyes in adoration, and said "get in the car...NOW." (it may not have been exactly like that, but damn close) and I took her to the Honda dealer and sat her on a little Ruckus. She was at a loss for words...not having my keen and shrewd eye for modern art. The moral of that story is be careful what you wish for...and when we got it home, she was off on a 32 degree ride (fairly short) to learn a lesson about riding temps.
Meanwhile, I had seen the Big Ruckus in the showrooms way back and was immediately captivated by the ugly nature of the beast...in some perverse sort of fashion, having built woods going mini-bikes from my youth, and saw the beauty, but could never personally justify the expense...being a father/grandfather kid at heart with a conscience. A year ago, I spotted a 2005 BR on craigslist for $750 that needed my tools and expertise...being sold by an idiot who put lock-tite on the main bouncy pivot (had to cut it apart with a cutting wheel) and such. yada yada yada...$2200 later, and a complete disassembly involving many ingenuities and poor choices of verbage, I had the scooter the way I wanted it...but for the sucky front forks bottoming out with embarrassing frequency. so, this morning I fixed that issue, and by way of introduction, thought I'd pass the good news along to the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

the fix is to first waste $50 on new Honda springs thru Bike Bandit, then run to your local hardware store and buy $10 springs that fit inside the originals.
